Shall I Shill? [Kirsten]

February 13, 2008

We seem to have a distinct lack of international perspective around these parts. In fact, we seem to have a distinct lack of anyone besides me. I considered posting an anti-McCain piece to rally Jenna to some good vitriol spewing, but I’ve been busy enjoying the weather and diligently avoiding work and never got around to it. Besides, if she doesn’t check the blog she won’t see it, and it looses about 98% of its effect if I have to tell her it’s there.

Because all you’re getting is me dithering I think it’s time to start posting links to what other people are saying. I wanted to start doing a collected links of the day thing, but I’m still on a desperate and fruitless quest for something resembling a neutral source. I know it’s a fools errand, but I have all this excess Hope (TM) that I keep pouring into undeserving vessels like the media.

Absenting a neutral source, here’s a link from DailyKos. Hey, it’s an international perspective!

I’m pretty sure I am misusing ’shill’ in the title. I am full of wine and don’t much care.

shallow thoughts [jenna]

February 6, 2008

i wish i had some deep thoughts to share about super tuesday, but i’ve been ill these last few days and thus haven’t had much time or energy to keep track of things, much less formulate my thoughts well enough to blog them!

in the meanwhile, i found a rather nifty website that i thought our readers might enjoy: www.whoshouldyouvotefor.com

this is jenna, signing in

January 28, 2008

just a note of hello from the resident conservative, signing in from leicester, england (formerly of detroit, michigan). i’m nominally republican, but tend to consider myself more of a moderate… we’ll see how that plays out!

um, more about me: i’m a historian and tend to look at current issues with an eye on the past. i’m also a christian, and my faith guides my politics (but i am not a crazy, bible thumping member of the religious right!!). my dad’s been watching c-span every night for as far back as i can remember, so i’ve grown up following politics to some extent. looking forward to seeing how this election year plays out.
